American tech giant HP has laid off 60 employees from its Netanya branch in Israel which previously served as a site for Scitex Vision, sold to HP in 2005. Following the layoffs, most of HP’s activity in Israel will be concentrated under Indigo, which HP acquired in 2001. HP’s Netanya office is expected to only maintain a small team to support clients.
HP Scitex is part of the conglomerate’s industrial activity, manufacturing digital printers, mainly for the packaging and signage sectors. HP Scitex has offices in Netanya, which includes its R&D, finance, and marketing departments, as well as a production center in Kiryat Gat.
“At this time it is not possible to expand regarding the activity of HP Industrial. The company continues to innovate and create value for its clients, while focusing on encouraging the digitization of the entire industry in different ways and through advanced technologies,” read an HP statement.
