Founded in 2013, Tel Aviv-based Kibo developed themed keyboards for brands. Despite signing deals with prominent brands, like Hello Kitty, soccer club Real Madrid, and the NBA, the company struggled financially according to its financial reports. In the first half of 2017, the company reported a net loss of $3.6 million.
A joint venture of Tel Aviv-listed adware company WhiteSmoke Software Ltd. and mobile app incubator Apply Mobile Technologies Ltd., Kibo raised $11 million to date.
New York-based StartApp is a mobile advertising startup. Originally from Israel, the company boasts partnerships with the likes of Yahoo, Uber, and WeWork.
StartApp will rebrand Kibo and integrate it into its services, the companies said in a press release.
