Israel’s Bank Hapoalim Appoints Wall Street Exec Haim Pinto as Chief Technology Officer

Bank Hapoalim, Israel’s largest bank, announced on Tuesday the promotion of Haim Pinto to the role of Chief Technology Officer.

Mr. Pinto joined the bank last year in a business development role, leading a number of strategic initiatives, including an investment in Viola FinTech, a newly formed venture capital fund which is part of Israel-based Viola Group, a technology-oriented private equity investment group.

Mr. Pinto has over 25 years of experience in the technology sector. He previously worked for Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York, leading strategic IT initiatives and supporting digital transformation efforts for the investment bank.

“We are investing heavily in connecting the bank to the innovation and fintech ecosystems while taking the banking experience in Israel to the next level,” Mr. Pinto said in a statement
“I am confident that Mr. Pinto will help us harness disruptive technologies to the benefit of the bank and its clients,” Avi Kochva, deputy CEO and the head of the bank’s innovation division, said in a statement.
