Mr. Pacey joined Outbrain in July, according to his Linkedin page.
In November, Outbrain announced the appointment of David Kostman to the role of co-CEO together with current CEO and Co-Founder Yaron Galai. Mr. Kostman had been a member of the company’s board of directors since 2014 and is also chairman of the board of cybersecurity company NICE Systems Ltd., and a director at several companies including adtech company IronSource Ltd.
“Our business is big and growing, and we need to invest a lot of attention in it,” Mr. Kostman told Calcalist in an interview in November. Also in November, Mr. Galai told Calcalist that Outbrain’s operations are growing at a “double or even a triple rate in some of the markets.”
In June, the Wall Street Journal reported Outbrain had laid off 4% of its approximately 600 employees. The article included a response from an Outbrain spokesperson, saying that the company is sharpening its focus and investing resources on gorwth driving business areas.
According to current LinkedIn data, the company employs 635 employees, after shedding 6% of its workforce over the last year.

Founded in Israel in 2006 and now headquartered in New York with several global offices, Outbrain provides a content promotion service to online advertisers. Outbrain pays online publishers for space on their website, using it to place advertisement content that invites users to click with captions like “you may also like this” or “number 5 will shock you.” Outbrain is paid by the advertisers when visitors click on the sponsored links.
Outbrain is currently one of the biggest players in the field of content promotion, alongside another Israeli company, Taboola.com Ltd.
