Artificial vision device company OrCam Technologies Ltd. is intending to expand to Asia in 2018, according to Elad Serfaty, OrCam's senior vice president. Speaking at an entrepreneurship conference held by Calcalist Tuesday at co-working space Labs, Mr. Serfaty said the company started by approaching English-speaking and European markets, but has recently expanded to South America.

Founded by Mobileye founders Amnon Shashua and Ziv Aviram, OrCam develops a camera and microphone-equipped device that clips onto glasses and uses face recognition technology to name people encountered, identify currency and read text. The company has also realized its device can help a wider range of disabled people, such as people who are illiterate or dyslexic, Mr. Serfaty said.
