Israeli Defense Contractor IAI Appoints New CEO

Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) has appointed Brigadier General (Res.) Nimrod Sheffer to the role of CEO, the company announced Sunday. Mr. Sheffer will replace Joseph Weiss, who has reached retirement age. State-owned IAI is Israel’s largest aerospace and defense company, developing and manufacturing defense systems for air, space, sea, land, cyber, and homeland security. The company is listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
Mr. Sheffer has previously served as vice president of strategy and research and development at IAI, having joined the company after retiring from the Israeli military. Mr. Sheffer has served as deputy commander of Israel's air force, and in his most recent military role, headed the planning division of the Israeli military’s general staff. The nomination is pending the approval of the State Companies Authority and the Defense and Finance ministers.
