Twistlock Raises $33 Million to Protect Cloud Development Environments

Portland-headquartered cloud security company Twistlock Ltd. has raised $33 million in a Series C funding round led by San Francisco-based venture capital firm ICONIQ Capital LLC, Twistlock announced Wednesday.
Existing investors Dell EMC, through its venture capital arm Dell Technologies Capital, and U.S.-based venture capital firms YL Ventures, Ten Eleven Ventures LLC, Rally Ventures Management LLC, and Polaris Venture, also participated in the round, which brought Twistlock’s total funding raised to $63 million.
Founded in 2015 by former Microsoft engineers, Twistlock develops a cybersecurity solution for serverless, cloud and container-based applications. Twistlock intends to use the funding to hire more people and expand its research and development operations in Herzliya, a town in the Tel Aviv area.
