Business Intelligence Startup Sisense Raises $80 Million

In the past year, the company also raised a previously unannounced sum of $20 million, bringing the company’s overall equity funding to $200 million

Israel-based business intelligence startup Sisense Ltd. has raised $80 million bringing the company’s total funding raised to around $200 million, the company announced Wednesday. The round was led by New York-based venture capital firm Insight Venture Partners.

Founded in 2004 and based in Ramat Gan, a town in the outskirts of Tel Aviv, Sisense develops software that allows companies with large datasets to gain insights on customers and users without requiring professional data analysis.

The company raised another previously unannounced $20 million round from existing investors in the past year, Sisense CEO Amir Orad said in a phone interview with Calcalist Wednesday. Existing investors in the company include Menlo Park-headquartered Bessemer Venture Partners, Boston-headquartered Battery Ventures LP, and Israeli venture capital firm Genesis Partners.

 

Sisense has over 450 employees in offices in Israel, Kiev, Tokyo, New York, and Scottsdale, Arizona, and intends to launch offices in new locations and hire 200 additional workers, 100 of which for its Israel artificial intelligence lab, by the end of 2019, Orad said.

 

Sisense counts Nasdaq, Rolls-Royce plc, and General Electric among its customers.
