Collaboration Between the University of Michigan and Israeli Science Universities Scores Extra $20 Million

A $20 million donation from The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Foundation will expand collaboration between the University of Michigan,Technion Israel Institute of Technology and the Weizmann Institute of Science, to advance research in robotics and precision health, Technion announced Monday.
Since 2011, researchers at the three institutions have collaborated on nearly 50 funded research projects as part of the Michigan-Israel Partnership for Research and Education program.
The program awards up to $100,000 per project over a two-year period. The program also awards $10,000 fellowships to graduate students.
The University of Michigan is a top-25 institution globally according to the Times Higher Education ordered list. Founded in 1912, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology is Israel’s first university. The Weizmann Institute of Science was founded in 1934, and offers graduate and postgraduate degrees in the natural and exact sciences.
