Israeli Gut Microbiome-Analysis Startup DayTwo Appoints New VP of Technology

Tel Aviv-based gut microbiome startup DayTwo Ltd. appointed David Sayag as vice president of technology, the company announced Monday. Sayag served as chief technology officer at Israeli taxi-hailing company Gett Inc. between 2012 and 2016. Founded in 2015, DayTwo offers personalized nutrition optimization suggestions based on feces analysis to determine gut microbiome DNA.
In December, DayTwo announced a new $5 million lab, citing an increase in its client base and plans to enter the U.S. market. The 500-square-meter lab will process over 100,000 feces samples a year, DayTwo said. The company has raised $17 million to date from investors including Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. co-founder Marius Nacht and Israeli basketball player Omri Casspi.
