On-the-Go Shopping Startup Enroute Pilots Technology in Deutsche Bahn Trains
Enroute develops an e-commerce add-on for smart mobility apps that encourages passengers to do their online shopping while in transit by rewarding them with credit for future fares

DB Regio AG, a short and medium distance commuter train subsidiary of German railway company Deutsche Bahn AG, has partnered with on-the-go shopping startup Enroute Ltd., Enroute’s Co-Founder and CEO Aviv Frenkel said in a phone interview with Calcalist Monday.

As part of the collaboration, Enroute is running a pilot in DB Regio trains in Germany’s northernmost state of Schleswig-Holstein and is planning to expand to additional areas in the country, Frenkel said.

Founded in 2017 by Frenkel and Sagi Levanon, Enroute develops an e-commerce add-on for smart mobility apps that encourages passengers to do their online shopping while on the train, bus, or taxi, by rewarding them with credit for future fares.
