Hainan Airlines Holding Co Ltd. is launching a new direct flight route from Tel Aviv to the southeastern Chinese city of Shenzhen, the company announced Wednesday. The line will be replacing Hainan’s existing Tel Aviv to Guangzhou route.
About a 30 minutes bullet train ride away from both Hong Kong and Guangzhou, Shenzhen serves as Hainan Airlines’ hub. Chinese telecommunications company Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and Tencent Holdings Ltd. are both headquartered in the city.
Hainan is China’s fourth-largest airline. The company operates 1,800 routes and already operates four weekly flights from Tel Aviv-Beijing, and three weekly flights connecting Tel Aviv and Shanghai.
