Online insurance company Lemonade Inc. has appointed Erez Dickman to head its research and development operation in Israel, the company announced Monday. Before joining Lemonade, Dickman was head of PayPal’s consumer product center in Tel Aviv and head of engineering at eBay’s Israeli innovation center. In 2009, Dickman co-founded The Gifts Project, a service that allows users to chip in on gifts acquired from online retailers. The Gifts Project was acquired by eBay in 2011.
Founded in 2015, Lemonade offers property and casualty insurance policies at a flat monthly rate that can be acquired instantly on its website. The company employs 125 people in offices in the U.S. and Tel Aviv. Lemonade has raised $180 million to date from investors including Softbank and Sequoia Capital Partners.
