Valley, Nebraska-based Valley Irrigation, a subsidiary of NYSE-listed agriculture equipment company Valmont Industries Inc., has partnered with Tel Aviv-based machine vision startup Prospera Technologies Inc. to offer autonomous crop management technologies, the companies announced Thursday.
Per the agreement, Prospera’s technologies will be integrated into Valley Irrigation’s central pivot irrigation systems, offering farmers machine learning-based real-time crop diagnosis and treatment recommendation. The two companies plan to invest more than $40 million in the project over the next few years.
Founded in 2014, Prospera develops machine vision systems and software intended to automatically detect pests, and optimize farm production. The company has raised $22 million to date from investors including Qualcomm and Cisco.
