London-based online and offline gambling company Ladbrokes Coral Group PLC will be shutting down its Israel office by the end of 2019, a spokesman for Ladbrokes’ parent company Isle of Man-based GVC Holdings PLC told Calcalist on Monday.
Ladbrokes Coral opened its office— which occupies an entire floor at Tel Aviv’s Azrieli Sarona tower—last year announcing its intention to double the local workforce from 100 people to 200. Ladbrokes Coral’s 140 employees in Israel will either be offered relocation to one of the company’s global offices or let go, according to the spokesman.
All of the existing marketing positions will be transferred to the company’s offices in Gibraltar, and some technological positions will be relocated to GVC’s Hyderabad, India office. The spokesman said the company is committed to ensuring “fair and compassionate treatment” of workers and to providing substantial assistance in their next career steps.
