Lockheed Martin, MIT Launch Seed Fund for Israel and Germany
The $150,000 fund will support collaborations between MIT faculty members and researchers and academic institutions in Israel and Germany
Lockheed Martin and MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI) are launching a $150,000 seed fund to support collaborations between MIT faculty members and researchers and academic institutions in Israel and Germany, MISTI announced Sunday. The funds will be used to support between two and four projects in each country. The funding may be used for travel—including visits to Lockheed Martin and MIT facilities in the U.S.—meetings, and workshop costs, as well as financing for internships in Israel and Germany for two MIT students. For the first year of the program, the fund will focus on proposals relating to manufacturing process control, modeling of materials and processes, novel materials for extreme environments, and factory automation. Additional countries will be considered for the program following the 2019 pilot.
