Nasdaq-Listed Snack Company Mondelēz Partners With Israeli Foodtech Incubator The Kitchen

The New Jersey-based snack maker's brands include familiar brands such as Oreo, Cadbury chocolate, and Sour Patch Kids

Nasdaq-listed snack company Mondelēz International Inc. announced Thursday it has entered a collaboration agreement with Israeli foodtech incubator The Kitchen. The collaboration will be spearheaded by Mondelēz’s research and development team and its global innovation hub, SnackFutures, the company said. As part of their collaboration, The Kitchen will help connect Mondelēz with Israeli foodtech entrepreneurs, while Mondelēz will offer technological and commercial mentorship to food startups operating as members of The Kitchen. Mondelēz will also offer participating startups access to its global technical centers, facilities, and experts across a variety of areas including R&D, food safety, marketing, and operations. Rob Hargrove, executive vice president of research, development, and quality at Mondelēz, will join The Kitchen’s advisory council.

Snacks by New Jersey-based Mondelēz are marketed in approximately 150 countries worldwide. The company’s brands include Oreo, chocolate brands Cadbury and Milka, and Sour Patch Kids candy.

 

Founded in 2015 and operated by Israeli food and beverage manufacturer Strauss Group Inc., The Kitchen currently has 12 portfolio companies in fields such as alternative proteins, food safety, and innovative food production.
