Customer Experience Company Medallia to Acquire Customer Behavior Startup Cooladata

San Mateo, California-based customer experience company Medallia Inc. has agreed to acquire Israel-based customer behavior analytics startup Cooladata Ltd., the former announced Monday. Earlier that day, Calcalist reported,
citing several people who spoke on condition of anonymity, that Cooladata is in advanced talks to be acquired for several dozens of millions of dollars. The financial terms of the deal were not officially disclosed.
Founded in 2012, CoolaData develops a cloud-based platform that analyzes big data on online user behavior for the e-commerce and gaming industries, to provide insights on individual customers as well as on customers as a group. The company employs several dozen people in offices in New York, London, and Ramat Gan, a town in the Tel Aviv area. CoolaData has raised $13 million to date.

The acquisition came following a one-year collaboration between the two companies.

Cooladata is the second Israel-based company to be acquired by Medallia. In 2016, it bought customer feedback startup Kampyle Ltd.
