Game Monetization Company AppLovin Acquires Israeli SDK Management Startup SafeDK
SafeDK develops tools for analyzing, monitoring, and optimizing third-party software development kits within apps

Palo Alto, California-based mobile game monetization company AppLovin Corp. has acquired Israel-based software development kit (SDK) management startup SafeDK Mobile Ltd., the companies announced Tuesday.
Founded in 2014 and based in Herzliya, a town in the Tel Aviv area, SafeDK develops tools for analyzing, monitoring, and optimizing third-party SDKs within apps.
Following the acquisition, AppLovin will set up a development center in Israel, Shoavi said. SafeDK’s existing team of 25 people will work with AppLovin’s team to develop a brand protection tool for mobile apps, according to a statement. The company intends to hire more people in Israel, Shoavi said.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In a Tuesday phone interview with Calcalist, SafeDK co-founder and CEO Orly Shoavi said the sum paid by AppLovin was higher than the$6 million raised by SafeDK prior to the acquisition.

SafeDK will continue to support its existing customers, the company said in a statement. Shoavi and her fellow co-founder Ronnie Sternberg will stay on as heads of SafeDK and will become co-general managers of AppLovin Israel, according to a statement.
