Haredi Software Services Startup Ravtech Raises $4 Million
Based in ultra-Orthodox Tel Aviv suburb Bnei Brak, Ravtech employs yeshivah students and allows its employees to combine programming with Torah studies

Software services startup Ravtech (incorporated Ravtech as Beit Tochna Torani Ltd.) has raised $4 million in its first funding round, the company announced Wednesday. Ravtech’s investors include Benny Levin, who co-founded Tel Aviv-listed software company NICE Systems Ltd., Sequoia Capital partner Shmil Levy, and David Kostman, the co-CEO of New York-headquartered online content distribution company Outbrain Inc.

Photo: PR Founded in 2013, the company provide QA automation services to customers such as Nasdaq-listed Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. and Nasdaq and Tel Aviv-listed defense contractor Elbit Systems Ltd., according to company statements. Ravtech reported revenues of NIS 8 million (approximately $2.26 million) in 2018.

Ravtech—”Rav” is Hebrew for rabbi— describes itself as a software services company that is based on the principles of the Torah. It is based in the ultra-Orthodox Tel Aviv suburb Bnei Brak and employs yeshivah students. Yeshivas are Jewish schools for religious texts, and Ravtech allows its employees to combine Torah studies and work.
