German Submarine Maker ThyssenKrupp Partners With Israeli Accelerator TheDock

German submarine maker ThyssenKrupp AG has signed a partnership agreement with Israeli maritime startup accelerator theDock Innovation Hub, theDock announced Wednesday. The agreement was signed during ThyssenKrupp’s CEO Rolf Wirtz’ visit to Israel.
Founded in 2016 and based in the Israeli port city of Haifa, theDock focuses on maritime and port-related startups. The accelerator has previously inked partnerships with Danish shipping conglomerate A.P. Moller–Maersk Group, Finnish marine technology and shipping company Wärtsilä Corporation, Lloyd's Register Group Ltd., and DSV-Global Transport and Logistics.
As part of the agreement, theDOCK will serve as ThyssenKrupp’s innovation arm in Israel and will scout for startups developing technologies that are relevant to ThyssenKrupp’s “business needs.” Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
