Kibbutz-Owned Agricultural Company Ginosar Agro Enters Medical Cannabis Market
Ginosar will partner with Israeli medical cannabis grower Way of Life to set up a research and culture lab

Ginosar Agro Ltd., a veteran Israeli agricultural company owned by Kibbutz Ginosar, is entering the medical cannabis market through a partnership with Israeli medical cannabis grower Way of Life Cannabis Ltd., the two companies announced Monday. The two will set up a joint research and culture lab for medical cannabis.
The lab will be constructed on Way of Life's farm in Israeli northern town Binyamina-Giv'at Ada, with the ownership split equally between the two partners.

Way of Life received its growing license in March, making it Israel's ninth licensed grower. The company is actively searching for research and development opportunities to bolster its agricultural business, CEO Iris Vermouth told Calcalist in an interview.

Ginosar, chaired by former Israeli Labor politician Shalom Simhon, already controls half the Israeli market for bananas and is the country's market leader for pineapples, and medical cannabis will help the company expand even further, CEO Inon Ben Zur told Calcalist in a recent interview.
