Intel Backs DustPhotonics in $25 Million Round

Intel Capital, the venture arm of chipmaker Intel, has led a $25 million series B funding round in optical connectivity startup DustPhotonics, Inc., the latter announced Monday. WRVI Capital and Israeli serial entrepreneur Avigdor Willenz also participated in the round.

The company intends to use the funding round to substantially grow its team and hire physicists, production personnel, quality managers, and development engineers, Ben Rubovitch, CEO and co-founder of DustPhotonics said in an interview with Calcalist.

Founded in 2017 and based in the central Israeli town Modi'in, DustPhotonics designs and manufactures highspeed optical transceivers for data centers, high-performance computing, and enterprise applications. The company has raised $42 million to date and employs a team of 63 people, Rubovitch said.
