Haifa-headquartered cosmetics company Il Makiage Ltd. announced Wednesday the acquisition of the Israeli operation of on-demand beauty services startup Missbeez Ltd. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2015, Missbeez develops an app through which users can order dozens of different beauty treatments, from manicures to hairstyling, done by professionals who come to the client's home or place of business. Missbeez screens and trains the beauty care professionals it uses, determining prices for the various treatments. The company has raised $5.7 million to date.
Missbeez's U.K. operation was acquired earlier this month by a local competitor, London-headquartered Urban Massage Ltd., Missbeez co-founder and CEO Maya Gura said in an interview with Calcalist.
Il Makiage intends to integrate Missbeez's service as part of its retail operations in the U.S., Gura said.
