Dell’s Israel R&D Head Promoted to Global Head of Storage
Vice president Dan Inbar will maintain his current position in addition to his new role at the company

Dan Inbar, Dell EMC vice president and general manager of the company’s research and development centers in Israel, has been promoted to global head of storage, the company announced Sunday. Inbar will continue to head the centers in addition to his new role, the company said.
Inbar joined EMC in 2016 following its acquisition of Israel-based flash company XtremIO. He was previously the Israel site manager at SanDisk Corp, and the CEO of N-Trig Ltd. until it was acquired by Microsoft.
The Dell EMC Israeli research and development branch was established in 2006, and currently employs a team of over 1200 people across four centers, according to company statements. The centers focus on flash storage, software-defined storage, information security, cloud computing, big data, and data science.

Dell EMC has acquired and integrated several Israeli startups into its research and development centers. Since 2006, the company has acquired more than 10 Israeli startups, paying over $1 billion in total. The company also invests in startups through its investment arm Dell Technologies Capital, and its portfolio includes code management startup JFrog Ltd., Israeli car data broker Otonomo Technologies Ltd., and Israel-based database software developer Redis Labs Inc.
