Insight Partners Pays $125 Million for a Stake in Gaming Company Moon Active

New York-based venture capital and private equity firm Insight Partners has bought a 10% stake in Israeli gaming company Moon Active Ltd. according to a company valuation of $1.25 billion, the companies announced Sunday. Insight bought stock from existing shareholders.
Earlier this month, Calcalist reported that Insight Partners was in advanced negotiations for a stake in Moon Active, citing one person.

Founded in 2011, Moon Active develops games for iOS, Android, and Facebook. It is the developer of popular mobile game Coin Master, which has been downloaded by tens of millions of users. According to mobile app data and analytics provider Sensor Tower Inc., Coin Master has brought in approximately $700 million in revenue to date, and the company enjoys monthly revenues of about $50 million, mostly from Coin Master.
Moon Active employs some 380 people in offices in Tel Aviv and Ukraine, and intends to recruit between 100-200 additional employees this year. The company has raised $10 million in funding to date.
