Shimon Sarid | SpaceIL, CEO

SpaceIL, the Israeli nonprofit organization behind Beresheet, the unmanned spacecraft that crashed on the moon’s surface in April, has appointed Shimon Sarid as CEO, the company announced Wednesday. Sarid previously headed the Israeli Air Force’s technical division and held several leadership positions at Nasdaq and Tel Aviv-listed Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems Ltd.
