Business Magnate Eyal Ofer Donates $2.8 Million to Fight Coronavirus
The donation will go towards three Israeli hospitals for research and medical supplies
Israel-born business magnate Eyal Ofer announced Sunday, that he has donated a combined NIS 10 million (approximately $2.8 million) to three Israeli hospitals currently working to beat the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The three beneficiaries are the Chaim Sheba Medical Center in the greater Tel Aviv area, the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov Hospital), and the Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa. The funds will be used to purchase vital medical equipment to prevent the spread of the virus, save people’s lives and protect medical teams from getting infected. Ichilov Hospital will use the money to fund the purchase of vital medical equipment. NIS 1 million will be donated to “Latet” to support the organization’s crucial daily efforts providing food and other necessities for the elderly.
