Cybersecurity startup headed by former Shin Bet boss raises $7 million
Opora’s software detects potential cyberattacks targeting the organization well before they occur

Israeli cyber company Opora Technologies, headed by the former head of the Israel Security Agency, also known as Shin Bet, Yuval Diskin, has raised a $7 million seed round led by Jerusalem Venture Partners (JVP).

Photo: Opora Opora’s software works outside the networks of a particular organization to detect potential cyberattacks targeting the organization well before they occur. The technology is based on collecting intelligence on potential attackers and their behavioral patterns while they are only in the early stages of preparing their cyberattack.
The company's existence was first revealed by Calcalist in 2019 after it had already raised $2 million. Opora was spun out of DAT (Diskin Advanced Technologies), a company Diskin had set up with partners seven years ago.

Photo: Opora Opora is based in Ra'anana and will use the new funds to expand its R&D staff, as well as its sales and marketing teams. In addition, the company, which employs 22 people, announced two new board members, JVP Founder and Chairman, Erel Margalit, and JVP Principal, Julia Kagan.
Opora's solution, which it has named as the Adversary Threat Protection (ATP) platform, provides a real-time and continuous view of customers’ cyber adversaries, exposing and monitoring their network of attack infrastructure, and delivering pre-emptive action to prevent attacks at the source.
Opora was founded by Diskin, who serves as the president of the company, together with former senior ISA figures Noam Jolles and Tsafrir Kats, and with San Francisco based CEO, Chris Bell, formerly co-founder and COO of Securonix.
According to Diskin, "We established Opora with the understanding that in order to protect organizations from sophisticated cyberattacks, security teams need a preemptive advantage on the attackers."
Diskin added that "Opora clients are changing the balance of power with their adversaries while gaining a preemptive advantage which is translated to prevention, containment and control of the attackers."
