“Rural and vacation areas saw a large uptick in reservations, as people became digital nomads during the Covid-19 pandemic,” President & COO of Guesty, Vered Raviv Schwarz, told CTech at Calcalist’s E-commerce 360 conference.
Guesty offers a property management platform for different short-term property-lending websites such as Airbnb, Booking.com, and others. With the onset of Covid-19, the company and the entire industry took a major hit, but Raviv Schwarz remained positive.
“We offer solutions for short-term or mid-term rentals, and we saw a turnaround more quickly than we expected. A lot of people started traveling - at least domestically - and wanted to break out of the lockdowns and find new environments,” she said.
People are traveling more now, she added, adding that “we have become a prominent destination for travelers. Families that want to travel and have the comfort of a home with a kitchen, or people who are concerned about the pandemic and want to have a secluded location with their own amenities, or those who are looking to be in different towns or become the new ‘digital nomads’ are all using short-term rentals.”
In addition, she said that Guesty provides plenty of tips to customers on how to mitigate the risk of Covid-19, as well as examine safety and cleaning procedures, making traveling far easier and safer.
