Online shopping explodes in the month of November as shoppers take advantage of Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and prepare for the Christmas holiday season. However, as more people flock online, the chances of data leaks or privacy hacks become more apparent. SAP, which develops enterprise software to manage business operations and customer relations, understands the risks their clients have each year.
“I think many of our customers are prepared for it throughout the year,” Orna Kleinmann, Managing Director at SAP R&D Center Israel told CTech at Calcalist’s Tech TLV. “I think the consumption is up around 65% during November, so it is also predictable on what is going to happen.”
According to Kleinmann, the average person has their personal data stored on approximately 120 different sites - something SAP is acutely aware of. “We're on it. And I think the future of technology is to really go the extra mile on data privacy and to ensure that I am purchasing more online but more securely.”
