“I don’t need to stand here and convince you that the Israeli fintech ecosystem is on fire. You have seen the numbers, $2.5 billion in investments in the first half of the year alone, more than double of last year and that is just private funding, not including IPOs, SPACs or acquisitions,” said Prashant Fuloria, Chief Executive Officer at Fundbox, speaking at Calcalist’s Mind the Tech NY 2021 conference on Tuesday.
“Skeptics might say it isn’t just Israeli fintech but that all global tech is on fire. Or you might say the pandemic is a once in a lifetime event that has caused an acceleration of digitization of financial services and all fintechs benefited from that. But that still doesn't explain why Israel in particular has benefited so much from this transformation? Why is a country that is roughly the size of New Jersey now the center of innovation for financial services around the world?”
