For a Starter

My name is Kfir Lev. I live in Givatayim with my wife Noa and our three kids. I was born and raised in Nahariya. I studied mechanical engineering at high school and served in the Air Force for four years as an F-16 fighter jet mechanic and armament technician. I got my first PC at the late age of 17, and it's been a love story since. I'm a quick learner, I love science and spirituality and always try to combine both for a holistic worldview when possible. I'm a certified Zen-Shiatsu therapist, and I enjoy talking and listening to people and helping them see themselves honestly and clearly, and maybe even change for the better. I usually end up as the unofficial office sounding board.

What's so special about what your company does? We provide a high-performance computing platform that delivers groundbreaking speeds for AI training, genetic sequencing for vaccines and drug development, CGI in media, and more. Industries that profoundly impact lives, even if they aren't aware of it.

What do you enjoy the most about your work? First, the people! I get to work with many talented and charming individuals from all age groups, which is refreshing and fun. The work can sometimes be challenging but being surrounded by so much talent pushes me and everyone else to be better at what we do. Secondly, the work I do is highly diverse. I work on cloud and physical resources with different hardware, infrastructure, operating systems, and applications. This is perfect for me as I like to know the whole picture and connect the dots with new technologies and methods to test all of them.

Preference - working from Home / Office / Hybrid: I'm a people person, so I prefer the office. I like talking to people face to face, making a human connection, and it's much more efficient and warmer.

My Daily Routine

07:00

Waking up, drinking about a liter of water (not at once) and a shot of apple cider vinegar, which helps move the body.

07:30

Getting my three noisy but adorable kids to school/kindergarten.

08:30

After a short bicycle ride to work which helps me clear my mind, I sit down with a small espresso, catch up on news/emails/slack and plan my work for the day.

09:00

I set up my testing environment and start working, hopefully finding a lot of bugs.

10:30

I drink a cup of green tea and chat with my team members about anything. We laugh a lot and help improve each other’s work.

12:30

I do 16/8 fasting, so lunch is the first thing I eat during the day. It helps with alertness and vitality; no sugar crashes for me. We usually band together and order something and go together and eat outside.

13:30 - 15:50

If there are no meetings, this is when I get in the zone. Headphones on, blasting music.

16:00

I go to the cafeteria, make myself a healthy protein-rich snack and chat with co-workers.

17:30

Leave the office to start my second shift at home with my wife and kids.

20:00

2-3 times a week I have a very intensive functional workout in a studio. I end up exhausted and dripping with sweat which is the best feeling in the world.

After Hours

What do you like to do in your spare time? I listen to hours of podcasts on various subjects from health to alternative history to astrophysics and psychology. I also like to play exotic instruments like singing bowls and my Hand Pan (that spaceship-looking thing you might have seen in some street Bazar or festival). Occasionally, another friend and I do guided meditations with shamanic drumming for small groups.

Apple or Android? Android hands down, I like the freedom to customize and control my devices the way I like and want them to be.

What type of music do you listen to? Mostly progressive rock and metal, but I also like psychedelic trance and tribal/shamanic music.
