“Everyone is talking about The Great Resignation, I try to talk about The Great Migration. We’re still waiting for The Great Migration to happen here in Beer Sheva,” said Gabi Joffe, Israel General Manager at Allscripts dbMotion. She made the remarks speaking to CTech as part of its Out of the Bubble series visiting tech hubs in Israel’s periphery. Now at Beer Sheva’s Gav-Yam Negev High Tech Park, Joffe encourages young people to consider moving to Israel’s south region.
“All the companies here are hiring, and I think we have to do a better job of changing the mindset and changing the perception that the young people have of Beer Sheva,” she continued. Allscripts dbMotion has been in Beer Sheva since 2004. “I think they're following suit on incorrect perceptions. Salaries in the south are not necessarily lower than in Tel Aviv, and the train actually goes both ways; it doesn't go just from Beer Sheva to Tel Aviv. Road 6 goes both ways, it doesn't just go from Beer Sheva to Tel Aviv. I really would encourage those folks to get on the train and come right here to Gav-Yam and enjoy the unbelievable opportunities that are in the park at this time.”
