“Israel has the highest potential to create solutions to global challenges”
Cecile Blilious, Head of Impact and Sustainability at Pitango Venture Capital, spoke to CTech at Calcalist and Bank Leumi’s Mind the Tech conference in London about the need for Israeli tech to improve sustainability and environmental regulation.
When it comes to sustainability, Cecile Blilious says that “Israel has been late to the game and the high tech industry even later. The world is already there, and has been there for the past 10 years. We’re seeing a lot of regulation in Europe, in the US, focusing on climate, diversity, ESG and impact.” However, she adds that “this doesn’t mean that we can’t catch up.”
“I am a big believer in the force and power of technology to make a change in the world,” Pitango Venture Capital’s Head of Impact and Sustainability told CTech at Calcalist and Bank Leumi’s Mind the Tech conference in London.
“Israel has the highest potential in the world to create solutions to global challenges. Those can be smaller challenges like increased diversity and how to decrease our carbon emissions all the way to creating social equality, social mobility, and of course the climate change crisis which can be addressed and is already being addressed with Israeli technology,” says Blilious.
