Digital Health Startup Competition Launches
EY is set to hold a digital health startup competition as part of the MIXiii Health-Tech.IL conference led by IATI. The competition will provide participating companies with an opportunity to showcase their developments to leading investors and win comprehensive professional guidance
In recent years, the digital health sector has been growing rapidly, presenting unique challenges for Israeli startup companies. Unlike the traditional technology market, companies operating in this field must deal with complex regulations, lengthy validation processes, and collaborations with conservative healthcare systems. In response to these unique needs, EY is bringing to the IATI MIXiii Health-Tech.IL conference the leading digital health startup competition, which serves as an extension of the well-known PITCH competition from the JOURNEY conference.
"The competition is designed to provide a dedicated platform for companies developing innovative technological solutions in healthcare," explain representatives at EY. "We bring to the table our deep connections with hospitals, investors, and the Innovation Authority, along with our extensive experience in guiding companies that need specialized attention on their path to success."
Yaakov Michlin, Conference Chairman and CEO of Biolight, adds: "We are at a critical point for the global Digital Health industry, as artificial intelligence and personalized medicine are changing the rules of the game. The competition will help identify and expose promising young companies that not only develop advanced technology but also know how to adapt it to the real needs of healthcare systems worldwide."
Karin Mayer Rubinstein, CEO and President of IATI, emphasizes the competition's strategic importance: "Israel is at the forefront of global innovation in digital health, and we see paramount importance in nurturing the next generation of startups in the field. The competition is designed to give the most promising companies the right tools, guidance, and connections that will enable them to grow and succeed in the global arena, thereby maintaining and strengthening Israel's position as a global leader in Digital Health."
The competition is open to companies in pre-seed and seed stages, as well as promising Series A companies showing initial revenue. The 8-10 selected companies will have the opportunity to deliver a 7-8 minute pitch before a panel of leading investment funds in the field and participate in an in-depth Q&A session. The winning company will receive professional guidance packages from EY and Meitar Law Firm, helping them tackle the unique challenges of the digital health market.
Registration for the competition remains open and is intended for companies developing solutions in areas such as medical artificial intelligence, personalized medicine, smart medical devices, and technologies for improving patient experience. Last year's competition winner was Converge Bio, which developed a GenAI platform for accelerating drug research and development.
