Elron Ventures appoints Yaniv Shnieder as CEO

Elron Ventures has announced that Rafael's former General Manager & CTO, Tel Aviv R&D Center, Yaniv Shnieder, has been appointed as its new CEO. It made the announcement as it adopts a new strategy focusing on early growth investments while expanding its portfolio into deep-tech and defense-tech.
“I am proud to join Elron and lead the company during such an exciting time filled with opportunities,” said Shnieder. “My vision is to strengthen Elron’s position as a leader in technology investments by leveraging my experience in developing advanced technologies in defense-tech and deep-tech. Together, we will create significant value for entrepreneurs, investors, and our dedicated team.”

Most recently, Shnieder founded and led Rafael’s R&D Center in Tel Aviv, which was established as a multidisciplinary engineering group operating in a startup model. Today, it employs approximately 250 people in Israel. Alongside his position at Rafael, he joined Elron in 2023 as CTO where he played a role in the company’s investment activities. He utilized his experience sourcing investments and supported Elron’s portfolio companies on their path to becoming global leaders.
