Elementor acquires Strattic to expand WordPress hosting solutions
Strattic developed an end-to-end web management platform that converts WordPress sites to a static and headless Jamstack architecture
Elementor, which has developed an open-source platform for web creators, is acquiring Strattic, which builds hosting solutions for WordPress websites. Strattic’s 16 employees will join Elementor. The size of the transaction was not revealed, but is believed to be in the region of several million dollars. Strattic raised $6.5 million in a funding round in 2020.
Founded in 2016, Elementor has grown over the last six years to become a leading website builder for WordPress, powering 7.4% of all global websites. This acquisition follows the recent launch of Elementor Cloud Website, a new cloud offering which includes a drag-and-drop builder and WordPress web hosting in a unified service. Elementor will leverage Strattic’s static rendering technology to expand its hosting capabilities and focus on offering solutions to challenges faced by millions of WordPress users.
Founded in 2018 by CEO Miriam Schwab and COO Josh Lawrence, Strattic is an end-to-end web management platform that converts WordPress sites to a static and headless Jamstack architecture.
“Strattic’s technology, reputation, talent and established market position as the leader of static hosting technology in the WordPress space will allow us to offer the benefits of static hosting to our entire user base,” said Yoni Luksenberg, CEO of Elementor. “This acquisition means our creators’ websites will always scale for traffic and perform under load, with no need to provision servers ahead of a big campaign.”
“Following a phenomenal four years of building out a world-class product and providing our users with the best static and headless WordPress solution possible, we are excited to be joining the Elementor family where we can continue to solve the biggest challenges facing WordPress users,” said Miriam Schwab, CEO of Strattic.
