What is next for Israel’s InNegev Incubator?
Karina Rubinstein, Climatetech Venture Partner at InNegev Incubator, joined CTech to discuss the climate crisis and how Israeli companies can join the fight.
“I would say unfortunately for Israel, we have been in a desert-like area for many years, and so in the context of InNegev specifically, there is a huge accumulated knowledge in the southern part of Israel on desertification processes that we are leveraging,” explained Karina Rubinstein, Climatetech Venture Partner at InNegev Incubator. Rubinstein joined the incubator after working at the Israel Innovation Authority and now leads its investments in climate and sustainability.
“80% of the portfolio is in these areas, but they’re going to be more involved in more sectors, like agritech, water, and what you call ‘disaster-tech’,” she continued. “They’re going to go into circulatory, energy, and carbon capturing. There are many opportunities to join up with other investors or entrepreneurs, from Israel and abroad.”
