XRHealth secures $10 million to bring healthcare treatment to the Metaverse
The economic opportunity of virtual healthcare reaches a possible trillion-dollar market
The doctor will virtually see you now. XRHealth, an Israeli company that operates therapeutic care Virtual Rooms, has announced that it has raised $10 million in funding to expand healthcare treatment in the Metaverse. The round was backed by HTC, Bridges Israel impact investment fund, AARP, and crowdfunding on StartEngine.com and existing investors.
“XRHealth is putting Virtual Clinics into users’ pockets at a critical time in the changing landscape of the medical delivery and the technology industry,” says Eran Orr, CEO of XRHealth. “We are leveraging these changes to create a new form of healthcare that is accessible at any time of day, from any location in the virtual environment of the metaverse, where treatment can be personalized and adjusted based on real-time analytics.”
The metaverse might appear to be a trend for some, but a recent McKinsey report highlighted the economic opportunity of virtual healthcare reaching a possible trillion-dollar market. Virtual treatment rooms, which saw a demand jump during the pandemic, can help clinicians expand their business, improve patient care, and increase comfort for those who can engage in treatment from their own homes. XRHealth’s platform is FDA and CE registered and patient care is covered by Medicare, available under most insurance providers.
“Together, we’re taking the next step in growing the open ecosystem and providing greater access to care while reducing costs. Interoperability is key and working with XRHealth opens a world of possibilities in using technology for good,” said Cher Wang, HTC Co-Founder and Chairwoman. Gal Hayut, Managing Partner at Bridges Israel and a member on XRHealth’s board, added: “As an impact-tech investor we see the company’s growth, positive clinical results alongside high patients’ satisfaction as an indication of its tangible impact on patients’ wellbeing.”
XRHealth was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, with its R&D center located in Tel Aviv, Israel. HTC VIVE is a virtual reality platform and ecosystem that helps create VR experiences for businesses and consumers. Bridges Israel was founded in 2018 and invests in Israeli companies that produce measurable social and environmental impact.
