“We can be part of the EU even if we're in Israel. But at the same time, given the geopolitical situation, it's quite hard to establish collaboration with EU grants,” said Michal Zilberberg, CEO of Twinnovation. “Many of the grants and R&D projects, for example, that companies need to establish collaboration with European member state partners.”
Twinnovation is a consultancy group that focuses on assisting startups and R&D companies in obtaining EU grants and government incentives, and how to put together a strategy of non-diluted funding in their funding funnel. Zilberberg was speaking to CTech at Tech TLV about some of the challenges that are faced by Israeli companies when venturing into Europe.
“If you're going for Spain, where people are really against Israel at the moment, you will not be able to find any partner,” she explained. “And then it's excluding you from those programs because you cannot find a partnership. So this is what we are doing, we are helping them find the correct partners even in those hard times.”
Zilberberg did highlight some countries in Eastern Europe, such as Poland, Hungary, Romania, Lithuania, and Latvia, as well as Germany, as possible partners for Israel.
