Fintech and payments company Airwallex has announced that it has appointed Nadav Tamam to lead its enterprise business in Israel and the Middle East. In the role, he will focus on supporting businesses across Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), online travel agencies (OTAs), e-commerce, marketplaces, and fintechs to improve operational processes and increase profit margins. He will also help the company expand into new markets.
"Today, every organization needs the ability to efficiently make and receive payments anywhere in the world, manage their expenses and workforce, without the operational burden involved, and create new revenue streams,” said Or Liban, Head of Israel and the Middle East at Airwallex. “Nadav will help us promote Airwallex's cross-border payments and financial services platform among businesses in Israel and the Middle East, allowing them to benefit from the efficiency, convenience, and financial flexibility offered by our range of global products and services."
Tamam has worked previously at companies such as Google and Flipkart, as well as startups like Dynamic Yield and Cappsool, which were acquired by Mastercard and Natural Intelligence, respectively. In his roles, he developed experience in sales, business development, and brand management.
Airwallex was founded in Australia in 2015 and is today valued at $5.6 billion. To date, the company has raised more than $900 million and processed over $60 billion in annualized transaction volume. The company’s business operations in Israel were launched in May 2023 with the appointment of Liban and it already serves local companies including Papaya Global, Mrkter, and OurCrowd, as well as global companies like SHEIN, Qantas, Brex, and Navan.
