"I'm very excited to announce we are expanding our office presence in Tel Aviv," Pranat Pathak, Chief Information Officer, EMEA, and Global Head of Fixed Income, Commodities and Risk Technology at Millennium, said in an interview as part of Calcalist's Tech TLV conference. "We have procured additional office space that will enable us to double our size and grow to 100 employees over time."
Millennium is a global alternative investment management firm which manages more than $72 billion AUM and employs over 6.000 people worldwide. Since establishing its presence in Israel in 2019, the company has expanded and continues to hire for its Tel Aviv office.
When asked where technology comes into play at the company, Pathak responded, "It's also important to mention that we also employ about 1,500 technologists around the globe. For us to have our portfolio managers deploy strategies in the market, it is imperative to provide them with the tools that allow them to have a competitive advantage in the market space and that's where technology comes in essentially."
When asked about how Millennium's Israel office, which currently employs 50 people in Tel Aviv, is coping during these challenging days, Pathak expressed how proud he is of the local team that continues to carry on with their work despite the disruptions and challenges, with production levels "pretty close to what they used to be two years ago."
Pathak visited Israel a few years ago when the company established its Tel Aviv office and is planning to return in the coming months. "Israel is obviously a hotbed of innovation. I am hoping to visit some more startups on my next visit in a few months and looking forward to see how we can collaborate with them in the future."
