Merlin Ventures adds master mentalist Lior Suchard as Venture Partner
Speaking at Calcalist and Leumi Tech's Tech TLV conference, Shay Michel, Managing Partner at Merlin Ventures, a VC fund specializing in investments in early-stage cyber startups, announced that international mentalist, entrepreneur and investor Lior Suchard has joined the firm as a Venture Partner.
Merlin Ventures, a venture capital fund specializing in early-stage cyber startups, announced at Calcalist and Leumi Tech's Tech TLV conference on Tuesday the addition of international mentalist, entrepreneur, and investor Lior Suchard as a Venture Partner.
Merlin Ventures has already achieved four successful exits, including Dig and Talon, both of which occurred in 2024, during the war.
In his new role, Suchard—widely regarded as the world’s leading mentalist and sensory artist—will leverage his unique expertise in creative marketing, thought processes, behaviors, and human dynamics.
Lior Suchard and Shay Michel, Managing Partner at Merlin Ventures, have been friends since the age of 17 and have previously collaborated on both business and professional ventures.
In 2016, they co-founded toDay, an accelerator program for early-stage startups. One notable success from the program was the acquisition of Israeli startup Reposify by the cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike. Another success story involving Suchard was MUGO, a startup he advised that was later acquired by Deezer. In addition, Suchard serves as an advisor and investor in several other startups.
During a joint presentation at the conference, Shay Michel was asked whether ChatGPT might eventually replace humans or pose a threat. "I don't see it that way," Michel replied. "It's like Iron Man's armor. It gives you powers and abilities and makes us better."
Suchard added, "We will combine our knowledge with innovative tools that help us improve and become more efficient. When the future is just around the corner and everyone is afraid, remember: the real power isn’t in the technology but in the people behind the ideas—those who believe that change is possible. Our world reflects the dreams we dare to turn into reality."
