Investment in agrifood-tech remained steady in 2024, with 33 funding rounds exceeding $1 million. More than 30% of these investments were directed toward robotics and farm equipment, reflecting an increasing focus on automation and precision agriculture as solutions to global labor shortages. Robotics has become a central area of innovation, with new funding and partnerships supporting the development of autonomous systems to improve efficiency in farming.
Collaboration with multinational corporations has also played a significant role in the sector’s growth. Israeli startups have increasingly integrated their technologies into the supply chains of global companies, helping to scale innovations in agritech and food production. Several major partnerships were established in 2024, facilitating the deployment of advanced agricultural and food solutions in international markets.
Beyond agriculture, Israeli startups in this sector are advancing developments in health and sustainability. AI-powered dietary solutions are being explored as tools for chronic disease prevention, while solar-powered irrigation systems and synthetic biology approaches, such as lab-grown meat and engineered microalgae, are reshaping food production and environmental impact. These trends reflect a broader shift toward sustainability and health-focused innovation, positioning Israel as a key player in the evolving global agrifood-tech landscape.
