Starburst announces ASTRA accelerator to power next-generation of space tech startups
The aerospace accelerator will guide three space tech startups, and help them launch go-to-market products with the aim of turning Israel into the Spacetech Nation
Starburst Aerospace, an Israeli aerospace accelerator, which connects startups with investors and government support, announced the launch of its first cohort, termed ASTRA, which will be focused exclusively on startups who develop innovative technologies for space applications. The three startups that were selected to participate are Tehiru Technologies, CrystalEn Semiconductor, and CSpace.
Tehiru Technologies’ hybrid, modular, cost-efficient air-launched rocket propulsion system uses electric landing, and is reusable and sustainable. CrystalEn is developing a technology that enables the growth of single-crystal diamonds to build next-generation materials for the semiconductor industry. CSpace is creating a satellite-based public planetary observation center equipped with nanosatellite telescopes for public space observation and astrophysics research.
The startups will begin a 7-month program, which includes technical support in building their technologies, fundraising assistance, expert mentoring, and a 13-week bootcamp to prepare for their Seed round, as well as business introductions for pilot opportunities, access to a global network of space and aerospace industry leaders, academic labs, and investors.
ASTRA is a startup accelerator that runs in partnership with Israel Aerospace Industries, Shenkar Lab, and Starburst Aerospace. It aims to support early-stage startups turn their technology into a go-to-market product. ASTRA’s goal is to transform Israel into the Spactech Nation, by helping launch the next-generation of space technology ventures in Israel.
