SAP’s new AI Guild: “We want to advocate AI. We want to educate people inside the company”
Asaf Bruner, Engineering Group Manager at SAP, spoke to CTech at AI 2024 to discuss the new club at the software company.
“The AI Guild is a group of people inside SAP: our employees who are passionate about AI, because AI is the biggest thing in SAP,” said Asaf Bruner, Engineering Group Manager at SAP, who initiated the Guild. “We talk about business AI all the time, and what we want to do is break silos inside the company and share information. We want to advocate AI, we want to educate inside the company, and we also want to create contacts with the industry around us and with the academy as well.”
Bruner is a Development Manager at SAP, which means he has ‘three jobs’ each relating to managing people, projects, and making technological decisions. He started SAP’s AI Guild to try to increase productivity along the entire chain of product development for the betterment of the company and, eventually, the public.
“From the ideation phase to the coding, testing, and deployment, we need different kinds of people, not just coders,” he added. “So who do we have there? We have product, we have managers, we have testers. So all of our people inside SAP can benefit from AI and AI tools, and that's what we do there.”
