Bank Hapoalim appoints Erez Rachmil as deputy CEO and tech chief
Rachmil, a former Playtika executive, will take over the bank’s technology division amid a push for modernization and efficiency.
Bank Hapoalim CEO Yadin Antebi is recruiting a management member from outside the bank for the first time. The bank announced that Erez Rachmil will be appointed Deputy CEO of Bank Hapoalim and Head of the Technology and Computing Division.
Rachmil (49) comes with a background of more than 25 years in the field of technology management. In his last position, he served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the gaming company Playtika.
Previously, Erez held several senior management positions at Playtika, including Senior Vice President of Development and Vice President of Information Systems. Earlier in his career, he was an entrepreneur and also held various technology positions in high-tech companies such as Amdocs and HP. He also held various technology positions at Amdocs and HP. Rachamil will replace Eti Ben-Zev, who recently announced her retirement.
The technology division in banks in general and at Bank Hapoalim in particular is the focus of many resources and costs. The infrastructure systems in banks are outdated, and any change or development is considered complex, with some banks collaborating with fintech companies to improve processes.
Since Antabi intends to emphasize improving the bank's profitability and efficiency during his term, it is likely that Rachmil will focus his activities on ways to reduce costs and streamline the division's operations.
