Meta suspends Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s Facebook and Instagram accounts
Meta has removed the accounts for “repeatedly violating” its “Dangerous Organizations & Individuals policy.” Khamenei has called to wipe Israel off the map numerous times and praised the horrific October 7 attack by Palestinian terror group Hamas
Meta suspended Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's Facebook and Instagram accounts on Thursday for “repeatedly violating” its “Dangerous Organizations & Individuals policy.” Khamenei has called to wipe Israel off the map numerous times on his social media accounts and praised the horrific October 7 attack by Palestinian terror group Hamas. The Iranian leader has also publicly supported the Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
Khamenei had more than 5.1 million followers on his Persian account on Instagram and 204,000 followers on his English account.
“We have removed these accounts for repeatedly violating our Dangerous Organizations & Individuals policy,” said a Meta spokesperson.
