Wiz eyeing US government contracts after receiving FedRAMP approval

With FedRAMP certification in hand, Wiz aims to leverage its cloud security platform across federal agencies.

Cybersecurity firm Wiz has announced that its Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) has achieved FedRAMP Moderate Authorization and is now listed as such on the FedRAMP Marketplace, just four years since the company’s inception.
The approval will allow Wiz to work with government agencies as they transition to cloud environments.

FedRAMP is a government-wide program that ensures standardized security in the cloud, facilitating faster cloud adoption by federal agencies.
Securing FedRAMP approval represents a significant milestone for Wiz, which views sales to the public sector as a key growth driver for the coming years. The Wiz platform is already in use by several government entities, including the U.S. Navy.
Wiz raised $1 billion at a $12 billion valuation earlier this year and is targeting $1 billion in sales as it prepares for an IPO on Wall Street. The company, which rejected a $23 billion buyout offer from Google last month, currently employs over 1,200 people across Israel, the United States, Europe, and Asia, and last year established an office in Washington, D.C., dedicated to working with the U.S. public sector.
This approval comes at a time of increased spending on cloud security by the U.S. government. Between 2019 and 2023, federal agencies invested approximately $488 million in cloud security solutions. The proposed presidential budget for 2025 projects a further 10% increase in cyber budgets, bringing the total to $13 billion.
A few weeks ago, Wiz also won a tender in Israel, making the company the exclusive provider of cloud security solutions for various government offices in Israel.
